To Tara and Tyler: We are so sorry for your loss. The last time we saw your dad we were catching each other up about what our families were doing and he was clearly so proud of both of you.

Marian, we have no words. But we are here for you. I hope that in time you can take some comfort remebering all the amazing things that you and Vince were able to do together, raising your beautiful family, travelling the world and giving back to you communities.

I had the absolute pleasure of volunteering with Vince at food rescue.

His incredible zest for life and ability to see the best in any situation made every volunteer shift an incredible treat.

The dad jokes, the impromptu karaoke and laughs will be treasured memories.

Vince (aka Bruce) it was a pleasure to have been in your presence even for a moment.

I will cherish our times together.

We first met Vince 23 years ago on the day we moved in. From that moment, it was clear that we couldn’t have asked for a better neighbor. He always had a smile on his face, a positive attitude, and a joy that was truly contagious. Anytime I picked up a drill or a saw, Vince would appear within minutes, ready to lend a hand. He was the most giving person I’ve ever known.

To Marian, Tyler, and Tara – I cannot begin to comprehend the pain you are feeling, but I hope the light Vince brought into our lives can offer some comfort during this incredibly difficult time.

It’s hard to believe I won’t see him next door anymore, wandering over to catch up on life. Vince was one of a kind, and we will miss him terribly.

My sincere condolences to Marian, Tyler, Tara and family. Vince was a very kind and friendly man. He was my son’s teacher at JOA. I remember him very well from Holy Spirit Church choir (he was a great cantor), our Taize prayers and many events run by the Knights of Columbus, like Kids Christmas Party as well as our Valentine’s Dinners. Vince and I would always talk about music, singing and share our experiences of different performances. He was always willing to help. I will never forget Vince willing to learn our oldest (XIII century) hymn in Polish and joining the Polish men in singing it for a very special occasion at our church. I was truly impressed!

Vince was one of my first neighbourhood playmates when I lived in Alliston. At that time, the sod fields backed onto our homes. I remember we would fly kites, skate on the sod fields in winter and attempt to catch tadpoles in the local creek in spring. A few times, I also invited Vince and one other friend, Steve Boyd, over for a cake made in my Betty Crocker Easy Bake Oven (I’m not sure how we managed to eat those, but we did) I moved out of Alliston when I was in grade 3, but we reconnected at Banting – wonderful memories of those 5 years, he was always smiling when we passed in the halls. We connected again via facebook. I enjoyed seeing his travels, he truly was enjoying a well deserved retirement. My sincere condolences to his family.
