Funeral Details:

BROWN, Thomas Walter “Tom”

It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Tom Brown passed away peacefully on Friday, October 13th.  He was surrounded by his family, and we showered him in love while we listened to Let It Be by the Beatles.

He was a kind, caring, compassionate, selfless, hard working, generous, hilarious and quirky man. His kindness and gentle nature made him a favorite brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, pseudo father and a friend to many. His gentle nature drew people to him.  He leaves a giant hole in our lives and we are all devastated that we have had to say goodbye so early.

Tom was the owner of Simcoe Landscaping for 31 years and was known for his honesty, professionalism and strong work ethic; his clients respected and trusted him.

His wife Mary has lost her best friend, her love, her confidante and soul mate who still made her laugh after 42 years. They had a wonderful life together.

His children, Alex and Carolyn meant the world to him, and he was so proud of their accomplishments. The life lessons he taught them shaped their personalities, he showed them by example to not take themselves too seriously, to be honest, to laugh, to be kind, to enjoy work and not to judge.  They will miss him forever.

His family and friends are invited to a Celebration of a Life Well Lived on Saturday, October 21st at the family home, starting at 1 pm. Friends and family will be received, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm.

Knowing that Tom loved his work, and took great satisfaction in the fact that his clients enjoyed the fruits of his labour - we will be planting trees and placing a park bench for the citizens of Barrie to enjoy. This is a memorial program that the City of Barrie has created. We believe that with Tom's line of work and his caring nature, it would be a lasting tribute.   If you wish to donate, you can go on line to:

https://www.gofundme.com/tom-brown-memorial-trees-bench

All funds will go towards the purchase of trees and a bench.  Any leftover funds will go to the Humane Society to honor how much he loved animals.  Messages of condolence can be left at www.peacefultransition.ca

Who gets the big praise in this world?  Corporate Leaders? Famous Sports Legends?  National Politicians? Musicians?  We will save our praise for Tom Brown.  He was a loving husband and father and an honest, funny, and hardworking business man.  He had real friends, no Facebook Phonies.  He had real character, not just something designed to impress the media. Tom was the greatest of honest, decent, caring, and funny people.  He was loved and WILL ALWAYS BE LOVED by those who knew him best.

First and foremost I would like to offer the Brown family my condolences.
Tom was truly a great man and will be missed.

Secondly this is to Tom, Tom I’ll miss the times when you walked past my house as I sat on the interlocking brick you laid for me and we would talk about adding more brick around the house.

Your art work will forever be there for everyone to enjoy.

    Rest in peace my friend.
