Theresa Ada Thompson

June 25, 1929 - July 27, 2022

Funeral Details: A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date

It is with deep sadness and much love that the family of Theresa “Pat” Ada Rose Thompson (née Haylor) announce her passing on July 27, 2022, in her 94th year. Theresa was lovingly known as Pat by her family and friends.  Pat was the beloved wife of the late Ken Thompson.  Wonderful mother to Julie Page (John), the late John Thompson, and the late June Robbins.  Loving grandmother to John Robbins, Crystal Robbins, Jolon Page (Alana), and Jaclyn Page (Conrad).  Loving great- grandmother to Hailey Porter, Conrad Page Jr., Callum Page, and Avery Page.  Pat was born in Toronto on June 25, 1929 to her parents Edna (née Cast) and Fred Haylor.  Beloved sister to the late Eddy, Connie, Margaret, Marie, June and Dorothy.  After marrying, Pat and Ken settled in Peterborough where they started a family and owned and operated City Lunch for many years.  Pat loved reading the newspaper on the porch at Buckhorn Lake, with her cup of tea.  She read true crime novels, loved baking, sewing, singing and listening to ’40’s music.  She enjoyed cooking family dinners, 5 pin bowling in the ladies league at Lakeview Bowl, working through a tough crossword, and volunteering for many organizations.  She loved helping anyone in need including her many foster fur babies over the years.  As the matriarch of the family, Pat was the glue that held her family together by hosting many family feasts, summers on the lake, Christmases with turkey and tinsel tousled trees, and setting the example that family always comes first.  Pat personified strength and perseverance throughout her life.  We will truly miss Pat’s singing, quick wit and phrases, and feisty demeanour.  We will “see you all of a sudden” as Pat would say.  The family would like to thank the staff at Grove Park Home for all their wonderful care and compassion.  A Celebration of Life for Pat will be held next month, in September.  Online memories and condolences may be made at www.peacefultransition.ca
