After a courageous 10-week battle with cancer, it is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steve on Thursday, November 11, 2021. Loving husband of Susan Barker (nee Watkins). Beloved father of James, Kimberley, and Christopher (Angela). Exceptional grandpa of Benjamin and Astrid. Fond brother of Jamie and Lynn (Greg), and brother-in-law of Judy (Arthur) and Elizabeth (the late Colin). Much loved uncle of 10 nieces and nephews.
He was a heavy equipment operator for Clearway Construction for many years. Steve was passionate about golf, his guitar, and his BMW. Cremation has taken place. At Steve’s request, no flowers or donations please.
A Church Service will be held at Collier St. United Church, 112 Collier St., Barrie, on Monday, November 15, 2021 at 2 p.m. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.peacefultranstion.ca

Posted on: Friday, November 12, 2021Uncle Steve was a one-in-a-billion kind of guy. Whenever I visited Canada, he always made so much effort to make sure I had a great visit and our shared love of playing the guitar brought many fun and intriguing conversations over the years. I will never forget jamming with him, both in England and Canada – memories that will last a lifetime. I will miss the laughs and the friendship of a man who was always there for others and who always wanted the best for everyone. The world is a much poorer place without him… Love you, Uncle Steve. Rest in peace.
