With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Sharon Marouelli, a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love and kindness touched all who knew her. Cherished wife of Dan, loving mother to Dan Jr. (Melanie), Dana (Ryan), and Joey (Rosanna), and the proud grandmother of Bradley, Audrey, Declan, Blake, Matteo, and Ozzie.

Sharon will be deeply missed by her beloved dogs, Stella and Sully, as well as her siblings, extended family, and countless friends. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family and animals will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

Born in Edmonton, AB, on November 4, 1955, Sharon was one of eight siblings. She married the love of her life, Dan, on July 19, 1975, and together they built a beautiful family, raising three children between 1976 and 1981. In 1984, the family moved to Barrie, where they put down lasting roots.

Sharon was a radiant soul, whose smile had the power to light up any room and whose presence brought warmth and comfort to all who were lucky enough to know her. She had a gift for making everything feel magical—whether it was the gardens she so lovingly tended, where you could wander and feel as if you were walking through a fairytale, or the way she could calm any baby with a gentle touch and lullaby. Her love for her family was boundless, never missing a chance to connect with her children, share a peaceful walk with her dogs, or enjoy a quiet cup of coffee with those she loved.

With Dan frequently traveling for work, Sharon took on the role of both mother and father at home, raising her children with unwavering love, strength, and kindness. She will always be remembered as a dedicated hockey and soccer mom, spending countless hours getting her boys to the rink in the winter and the soccer fields in the summer. She was an exceptional mother and role model, instilling in her children the values of compassion, creativity, and resilience.

Her heart extended far beyond her own family, as she was a fierce lover of all animals. She had an innate ability to connect with and care for any creature in need, nursing injured and orphaned animals back to health with an intuitive kindness. Her nurturing spirit led her to guide her family in caring for many rescue critters, and she became the go-to source of wisdom when it came to animals and life’s gentle creatures. Sharon’s love for dogs was unmatched—every dog she met seemed to understand they were in the presence of someone truly special. Her birds, with their delightful chattering, brought her endless joy and were a constant reminder of her beautiful, ever-loving spirit.

Sharon shared a special bond with her daughter over their love of fish tanks. Together, they transformed their aquariums into living works of art, growing lush underwater plants that created breathtaking, serene landscapes. It was a hobby they both cherished, a space where Sharon’s creativity and care turned small glass tanks into magical escapes for all who had the privilege of witnessing them.

A talented artist, Sharon expressed herself through painting, sewing, quilting, and stained glass. Every piece she created was filled with beauty and meaning, and her home was a reflection of her artistry and passion for gardening. She had a natural ability to transform spaces, ensuring everything around her was as warm and inviting as she was. She carried herself with an effortless grace and style that turned heads and made hearts skip a beat. She was the true matriarch, the queen of her family, and through every moment—whether joyous or challenging—she moved with unwavering dignity, always shining brightly for those around her.

Later in life, Sharon found great joy in golfing, spending winters in Florida with Dan, and taking long walks with her beloved dogs, especially Stella. She loved golfing—but hated putting. Towards the end of her time with us, she cherished simply being with family, watching her grandkids swim in the pool, enjoying backyard BBQs, and sharing stories and laughter with those she loved most. She adored her six grandchildren, treasuring every moment spent playing with LEGO, making perler bead creations, or simply listening to their stories. She was their biggest fan, their safe place, and their guiding light.

Sharon also had a mischievous side and loved a good scare—not from movies, but from actually scaring someone in person. This trait, which she passed down to her family, was a source of endless laughter and fun.

Her spirit lives on in all of us. She touched so many lives in so many positive ways—an angel on earth and now an angel in heaven. Though she will be deeply missed, she will never be forgotten. Sharon’s love, kindness, and wisdom will continue to guide us. May we honor her legacy in the love we give and the lives we touch, just as she did so effortlessly in her time with us.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice Simcoe www.hospicesimcoe.ca would be greatly appreciated by the family.

My heartfelt condolences to everyone who loved Sharon.❤️ I am deeply sorry for your loss. My eyes filled with tears while reading the announcement above as it is very clear how special and kind Sharon was to so many… I feel blessed for having had the chance to receive some of her radiant energy. I had the pleasure of meeting Sharon only one time at a yoga retreat, but her beautiful spirit and smile left such a strong impression on my heart. There are no words to take away the pain of losing a loved one, but I do hope there is comfort knowing she is remembered for bringing joy to people she just met. I can see how Sharon’s loving spirit lives on in her children and grandchildren.💞

I am so saddened and heartbroken over Sharon’s passing, she was always a bright light in my life and I will always have such loving memories of her. It still makes me laugh when I recall her telling me I drove like an “old lady” going through Quebec on our way to NS, because I only went 10 kph over the speed limit, when everyone else was traveling 30-40 kph over!
Sharon was my wife Margie’s closest sister and now they are together again having a good “chin wag” and staying out of trouble (not).
All my love to her family, she is at peace now and will be forever in our hearts. 💕 Love you Sharon. 💔

To Dan, Dan and Mel, Dain and Ryan, Joey and Roseanna and extended family, especially your sweet kids our hearts go out to you, full of sorrow at the passing of Sharons bright soul but always greatful for her unwavering love and care. Sharon was a great comfort in challenging times with a gift for putting people (and animals, so true) at ease. Truly her calm understanding and wicked humor could draw people together and bring light to any issues. We will miss our shared time so much, visiting together (dog walks were the best) and all the big laughter and fun. We know these qualities in her family and wish you all great peace and comfort. With our resolve to keep her spirit safe in our hearts forever. Much love from Colleen and Rod 💔🙏
✨May the longtime sun shine upon you, all love surround you and the pure light within guide your way on 💫

Dan, I was very sorry to hear of Sharon’s passing. She was a good friend to me in high school, and for a few years after that, until our lives took their own paths and I never saw her again but knew she was thriving in Barrie with you. I remember her as a fun, kind, happy person who we all loved being around. I took these pics, the first one at Mayfair Park (now Hawrelak Park) in March 1973 during our Grade 12 phys ed. snowshoeing outing; and the second one at my family cabin at Pigeon Lake on the May long weekend in 1973. Blessings to you and your family.
