It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Robert James Wright March 5, 2022, at the age of 74. Beloved husband of Dianne for 55 years and soul mate for 60 years. Loving father to Sonny Wright (Karen), and Shawna-Leigh Christophersen (Ray). Cherished Pappy to Thomas (d), Henry and Jack Wright and Karsen and Kaleb Christophersen. Dear brother to Janice McCann (Des), Linda White (d) and step sister Dawn Menear. He will be forever loved and remembered by cousins, nieces and nephews, extended family and those that had the pleasure to call him a good friend.
Robbie met Dianne on a bus in Stayner heading for Toronto at the age of 15 and that’s where their love story began. They married in 1966. They raised their family in Holland Landing for 42 years before moving into the community of Sandycove in Innisfil.
Robbie and Dianne’s passion for boating had them cruising Lake Simcoe and Georgian Bay in their Cabin Cruiser Relationship II creating many memories with family and friends through the years.
Robbie was a Graphic Arts Designer and over the years enjoyed boating, fishing, baseball, poker, pool, darts, reading, listening to music, watching his backyard birds, gardening, golf and his darling dog Precious.
In keeping with Robbie’s wishes, a private cremation will take place. If so desired, memorial donations to UHN Foundation www.uhnfoundation.ca would be appreciated by the family.

Posted on: Sunday, March 6, 2022Words can’t even express my sorrow upon hearing of Rob’s passing. Whenever I would get discouraged about the state of marriages I would think about Dianne and Rob and I would again be assured that true love does exist. What an example of a husband, father and friend Rob was. Always ready with a smile no matter what was going on. And the faithfulness of Dianne through all the years of illness was a shiny example of true love.
I’m sending my love and prayers to the family. I am heartbroken along with them.

Posted on: Sunday, March 6, 2022Dianne, Jackie and I are so sad to hear of Rob’s passing. I have been playing poker with Rob a couple of times a week since he moved to Sandy Cove. A great guy and a great friend. I remember the laughs we had replacing his golf cart windshield, it took a few tries but we finally got it done! Rob had a good heart and was a good person, we will sorely miss him. Wishing you peace and strength.
