Robert “Bobby” Francis McKay
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert at the age of 88 years. Robert passed away peacefully at the RVRHC on April 30, 2023, surrounded by his loved ones.
Robert was the beloved husband of the late Georgina (nee Nicol) and the loving father of Linda (Mike) Copp and Vicki (the late John) Wright-Olesen. He was a special papa to Dougie (Laurie), Jason, and Lindsay (Gerry), and a great-papa to Alycia, Hadley, Carter, and Everly. Robert was also a brother to the late Gordon McKay, and Betty McConnachie.
Robert enjoyed hunting and fishing when the opportunity presented itself, and he was hoping to make this summer his summer to fish. However, his true passion was playing billiards, which he enjoyed his whole life, right to the end. As a boy, he would sometimes skip school to play and hustle. His second home was spending time shooting a game at Dunlop Billiards, and was a member of Barrie Pool Players CCS League #503. Robert had a love for coffee, any coffee, often enjoying 10 cups a day! Raise your mug, think of Bobby and share a toast to his memory.

Robert will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his memories will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

You will be missed by Jason and myself more than you know. But I glad that you and mom will be together again and Granny and Pops will have all their children back together again. RIP love your daughter and grandson. We miss you all.
