Following a lengthy battle with cancer, Reginald Lloyd Parsons of Barrie passed away on April 22nd at the age of 75 years. Reg will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Shirley; children, Lori and Gail, son-in-law Glenn; grandchildren, Carter, Evie, Andrew and Kaitlyn; sisters, Phyllis Earle and Barb Osborne; brothers, Allan, Vince, Wilfred and Dave; as well as numerous relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his son, Andrew James Parsons; brother, Roy Parsons; and his parents, Gordon and Annie Parsons. Reg was born in Seal Cove, Newfoundland and moved to Toronto when he was 18. There he met the love of his life, Shirley and they began what would be Reg’s greatest accomplishment; his family. Anyone who knew Reg knew that his life was lived in absolute devotion to his family. Whether it was helping with homework, working to support a family of 5 or helping his grown children with their own yard work, he was always there offering help and support.
Reg also enjoyed making people laugh and loved a good joke. He was always ready with a funny story from his childhood or a new joke to share at a family gathering Due to current restrictions, no service will be held. Memorial Donations may be made in Reg’s name to Hospice Simcoe, 336 Penetanguishene Rd, Barrie, ON L4M 7C2. Or online at https://www.canadahelps.org/en/dn/2595
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Hospice Simcoe for their care and compassion.

Posted on: Wednesday, May 26, 2021My deepest condolences to Aunt Shirley and my cousins Gail and Lori. Uncle Reg will always be remembered for his great sense of humour and beautiful smile. Uncle Reg held a special place in our hearts. We loved to see him when he visited Newfoundland and my Dad, Vince, cherished the telephone calls, many stories and good laughter that they shared.
