Patrick Lionel Dusome

January 8, 1937 - July 20, 2023

Funeral Details: A casual drop in Celebration of Life will be held on July 29, 2023 from 1pm to 3pm at his home in Sunnyside.

Patrick Lionel Dusome passed away peacefully at Georgian Bay General Hospital on July 20th, 2023, with his loving family at his side.

Pat will join his loving wife Beatrice who left us in 2012 and has been deeply missed ever since.

Pat was born in Midland on January 8, 1937 to Maude and Albert Dusome and grew up with his brother Peter (deceased) and two sisters Violet (Latour) (deceased)and Sharon (Weatherall).  In 1957 Pat married his best friend Beatrice Mary Casquenette in his hometown of Midland.  They settled in Sunnyside in 1959 where they raised their 4 children Tracy, Terry-Lynn, Kimberly and Blain.

Pat loved to spend time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing, as well as traveling

throughout Canada with his wife. Both Pat and Bea loved experiencing the beauty of lakes, trees and mountains of Canada but especially loved spending time on Georgian Bay with his family and friends.

Pat will be fondly remembered by family and friends for being the “go to guy” to repair pretty much anything mechanical. Whether he was working in his shop in the backyard, on a snowmobile trail or at a dock he loved repairing things and tinkering.

There will be a huge hole in our hearts left by the passing of Pat/Dad/Papa in the hearts of everyone who he touched. The loss will be felt deeply by his children, Tracy & Michelle (predeceased) Dusome, Terry-Lynn and Richard Bressette, Kimberly and Don La Rose and Blain and Eve Dusome. Papa’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren, Jessica, Alison, Emma, Becky, Ben, Abby, Liam,Eden and Alex. Great Papa was blessed with 5 great grandchildren who loved him dearly, Callen, Raina, Markus, Owen and Olivia.  Pat will be especially missed by his sister and brother-in-law Sharon and Steve Weatherall.

My deepest sympathies on the passing of Pat – he was like a second dad to our family and I got into trouble with Blaine every time we snuck into the berry patch – Blaine and I couldn’t outrun him even on our best days. He was loved and will be missed.

So sorry to hear of Pat’s passing. He will be very happy to be back with Bea. He was a great neighbour who was always there for me. Most of all he always made me laugh and whenever he saw me he would call me Trouble! He will be truly missed. Sending my condolences to Tracy, Terry-Lynn, Kim, Blaine & families.

With respect and sincere condolences to the entire family. Although you may not know me, I had the pleasure of many conversations with Pat while working at The Hearing Rehab Centre. Most of the conversations were about doing things with his grand-kids, how important family was, and his passion for the outdoors. He loved to talk and it was always a pleasure to see him. He was a really nice guy and I am saddened. With sympathy for your loss.
