Funeral Details: A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date

Passed away peacefully on July 22, 2024 at the age of 82 years.  Born to the late Frank and Edna Hester.  Beloved husband of the late Sandra “Sandy” Hester (nee Howser).  He was a devoted father to Laurie (Jeff), and a cherished grandfather “poppy” to Elizabeth (Lizzie).  He is survived by his siblings Alfred “Butch,” Laura, and Lynne, and was predeceased by his sister Sandra.

Murray enjoyed a fulfilling career spanning over 30 years with the TTC, Gray Coach, and Go Transit.  He loved his work, which felt like a social hour to him, as he enjoyed engaging with people, sharing laughs, and driving.  Known for his sense of humor and as a class clown, Murray also enjoyed his downtime, often watching old movies.  His favorite place in the whole world was spending time at the casino with his wife Sandy.  Murray shared a special bond with his granddaughter, Elizabeth, whom he adored.  He had a big heart and was full of compassion.  One of his cherished memories in later years was singing as young boy with his brother in the choir at the St. James Cathedral in Toronto.

In accordance with his wishes, a private cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, with details to be posted on the Peaceful Transition website. Online condolences and memories may be shared at www.peacefultransition.ca.
