In Loving Memory
WELLINGTON, Margery (nee Salway)
November 14, 1926 to February 5, 2017
Peacefully in the arms of her beloved husband, Les Wellington at Bay Haven Senior Care Community, Collingwood, Ontario in her 90th year. Dear mother of Steve (Alison), Diane (John), loving grandmother and proud great grandmother.
Margery lived a wonderful life filled with memories that would leave you breathless. Born in Jersey in the Channel Islands, living through an invasion and taken to Germany with her family and interned in a prison camp during WWII. In 1945 they were repatriated to England where the family settled and Margery became a dress maker. In 1950, it was a ladies “excuse me” dance at a Christmas Party and Margery asked a young sailor to dance with her. They danced that night, married in 1952, sold everything in 1955 and took a ship to Canada and started their life together raising their two children. They continued their dance for 64 and a half years.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at St. George’s Anglican Parish, 9 Granville St., Barrie, Ontario Visitation: 12:00 p.m. Service at 1:00 p.m. followed by some Refreshments at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes you to make a charitable donation in her memory to the Canadian Parkinson’s Foundation.
~ Rest in Peace my Sweetheart, until we dance again ~
