Margaret Irwin (nee Adair) beloved wife of the late Bill Irwin peacefully passed away on December 3, 2023 at the age of 94 years in her own home surrounded by family and loved ones.
Mom, the loving mother of four, will always remain a bright spot in our hearts. Her daughters Joanne (Mitch), Nancy (Mark), Susan (Ken) and Cathy (Les) will miss her wonderful sense of humour and joy of adventure and living.
Her eleven grandchildren will miss her fun loving presence and the feel of her affectionate attention playing games or doing crafts. Her twelve great grandchildren will miss her warm
hugs and cuddles.
Mom was born in Toronto, but spent many years in Brooklyn and could speak “Brooklynese” with the best of them. As the loving partner to husband Bill they raised four daughters and Mom spent many years as Brown Owl to a good number of Brownies over the years in Scarborough. In the later years Mom and Dad did a great deal of travel and would always come back with wonderful stories. She was very active in the choir and various committees in the retirement community in Innisfil and tap danced up to the age of 70+
She was a wonderful friend, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be greatly missed. As well her epic family dinners.
We would like to send a sincere thank you to Dr. Mossman whose care and attention made Mom’s transition so much easier and to visiting nurse Angel. A very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Heritage Place whose assistance and thoughtfulness has been greatly appreciated.
In accordance with Margaret’s wishes, a private cremation will be held. Online memories and condolences can be shared at www.peacefultransition.ca. The family has requested donations to The Canadian Arthritis Society in lieu of flowers.
