Funeral Details:

Camp, Lance Gordon – born March 11, 1949.  Passed away on April 6, 2018 at the age of 69 after a courageous battle with COPD.

Lance leaves behind his loving wife Ursula, children Diane (Joe) Park and Dan (Melissa) Camp, grandchildren Brendan, Alyson and Jordan, along with his sister-in-law Gisela Lowe and brother-in-law Edward Lowe.  He will be lovingly remembered by cherished nieces and extended family.Lance had an incredible sense of humour and a caring way with family and friends alike. He shared his love of nature, fishing and music with all who were blessed to know him and love him.He was known to take out his guitar on warm summer nights to sing to us all.  He was also known to play a mean set of spoons.  We will cherish those memories for years to come.  Dad served his country with pride and was so proud to be Canadian.

Our family would like to extend special love and thanks to Gisela and Ed Lowe and to his military family who have been with us through every step.  Also, we would like to thank Dr. Kerstin Mossman, the staff of Simcoe Hospice, and the nurses of Stevenson Memorial Hospital.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Simcoe Hospice in memory of Lance would be greatly appreciated.

The Celebration of Life at the Rod and Gun Club (201 Falaise Road (T147), CFB Borden) has been rebooked for Sunday, April 29 from 1-4pm.

Our condolences go out to the Camp Family during this sad time. You were a true person and a wonderful friend. The few times we got together and played Guitar in my basement was an honour to have played along with you. Maybe one day Charlene will be able to give you a Flattop haircut in Heaven. May you now RIP. God Bless.

My condolences to Ursula and family at this time of loss. I had the privilege of working with Lance at a number of postings and finally while in Borden when he was a civilian employee. Lance was truly a professional in all that he undertook. Whenever we would cross paths he would always stop, share a smile and a few cheerful words. He is now in God’s presence and will continue to have many cheerful chats.

Our deepest sympathies to Ursula, his family & friends.  Lance was one of a kind.  Always laughing and cracking jokes and a pleasure to be around.  He had a way of cheering you up if you were down. Harvey and I are so saddened to hear of his passing.  Rest In Peace Lance.

Wow! I just heard about Lance’s passing, and I was shocked and saddened to learn of it. Lance was my cousin (my mom was his dad’s half-sister), and we didn’t really know them that well. But I do remember one time when I was in my teens (Lance was only 4 months younger than me) we visited them in London. Lance and I skipped out on a family bowling outing to go watch a movie together. We both share the Camp humour and music genes, I think. My heartfelt condolences to Lance’s family. I would love to reconnect with them. Lots of love, Cousin Jim Smith, Nova Scotia

Thank you for your kind words. I never really knew Dad’s side of the family. I wasn’t aware his dad had half siblings. I’ve been missing him and just happened to go onto his obit site. I had no clue so many people had left kind messages. Dad always had a quick sense of humour for sure. Again, thank you for reaching out. Diane
