Kirby James Rawn

July 5, 1962 - December 30, 2024

Funeral Details: A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date

Passed away on December 30, 2024 at the age of 62 years with his family by his side. Beloved son of Shirley and the late James “Jim”. Loving father of Rebecca “Becky” Brown (Eddie), and Jesse Rawn (Aiden). Brother of Glenna Mills (Victor), and the late Deanna Rawn.

Music was at the heart of Kirby’s life. A DJ in his younger years, he had a particular love for 80’s music and found joy in sharing it with his daughter Jesse through fun games of “name that song” or “who’s the artist.” Known for his great sense of humor, Kirby loved making people laugh and was always the life of the party.

He enjoyed dining out, with The Keg being his favorite spot, and spending time at Rama, whether at the casino or enjoying live shows. Despite his health challenges, Kirby remained positive and resilient, always smiling and spreading joy to those around him.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A service to honor Kirby's life will be held at a later date.

We find comfort in knowing that Kirby is now reunited with his father Jim, his sister Deanna, his nephew – baby Travis, and his family dog Rachel.

I met Kirb when I was playing with the Barrie Flyers. He was a big part of the team performing tasks as the trainer’s assisstant. It was easy to see how much spirit Kirby posessed around the team and how he really enjoyed the clowning around shenanigans that took place within the club. He would always greet you with the utmost of gusto and a hardy handshake. He was a great friend and he will be sadly missed. RIP Kirb God Bless ya. Until we meet again…….. and we will. Have that handshake ready.

Although I haven’t seen Kirby since high school, we attended elementary school together as well at Cundles Heights. He was always my sports guy friend. Often debating with me wether the Bruins we’re way better than the Leafs. My condolences to his family.

I met Kirby when we were neighbours of his Mom and Dad on Glenwood Dr. I lost touch with the family but later reunited with Kirby, his sisters and his Mom through Facebook and we bantered with each other over the Leafs. He loved the Leafs and the Jays. I am truly saddened with his passing and wish my sincere condolences to his family. I know Kirby brought joy and laughter to many. Rest in Peace my friend.

Many fond memories of Kirby on the diamonds and the local watering holes after the games. Always put a smile on everyone’s face and was King of the chirps. Rest easy Kirby.
