Kelly James Gallacher

September 5, 1993 - August 6, 2021

Funeral Details:

We are beyond heart-broken with the loss of our beloved Kelly.

Kelly was someone who lived bold and loved adventure.  He possessed a kind, gentle soul, along with an outgoing and humorous side, topped off with a radiant smile.  He exhibited confidence and daredevil like abilities when it came to the extreme sports and recreational activities that he loved.  Despite his too short life, Kelly achieved many notable personal and professional accomplishments in the areas of competitive freestyle skiing, biking, fitness training and communications and marketing.

Professionally, Kelly became a fitness trainer, developed marketing and communications programs for a web-based fitness start-up and eventually started his own successful business creating a series of on-line study guides to help students taking the Ontario real estate course.  He conceived the idea for this business while taking the same courses himself as he felt his study approach could help others as he ultimately completed the courses in high standing and got his license.  He was still developing new ideas for another online training start-up.  Kelly was a naturally gifted communicator, negotiator and entrepreneur.

Kelly was interested in the rituals and ceremonies of indigenous peoples.  He aligned himself with the wolf totem – wolves are considered to be the epitome of the wild spirit, expressive of a keen intelligence, an ingrained desire for freedom and a strong connection to instinct.  These traits were unmistakably Kelly.

Without Kelly, there will be a deep, unfillable void left in our lives.  We will miss his vibrant energy, enthusiasm, infectious humor and beautiful smile.  However, he will live on forever in our hearts and memories.

A celebration of Kelly’s life will be held a later date with details to follow.  Sending your memories of Kelly would bring the most comfort to our family at this time.

I had the pleasure of spending a month with Kelly very recently. I was struggling with many aspects of life and Kelly was always there to pick up my spirits and make me laugh. Our time together was brief but memorable for a lifetime.

Kelly was one of the funniest people I’ve ever met. He was able to make me laugh with just one look. He was so intelligent. I enjoyed all of our conversations and our “mischief”. Although our time with him was brief, it was impactful. He lived so much “life” in his short time here with us on earth. I am proud to say I was a friend and his life has inspired me. Kelly, may you live on in all of our hearts and your memory remain inspiring to those you’ve met. May those memories inspire us to serve the community and help those who need. Rest well my friend for I know you are now at peace.

I am so grateful to have known Kelly. He was strong in his convictions. Amazingly quick with his whit. He had a rare talent to make light of dark while being sincere. He loved the moon configuring the dials of the telescope to reveal an image you could almost touch. He would smile and offer others to take a glance. He liked to stack wood and make big fires the kind that continued to burn for hours as it was built with measured precision. He could finish a cross word puzzle long after others would give up. He was a leader and a genuine friend. We had a lot of fun. I’ll miss him and always remember him. I respected him very much. Condolences to his family and loved ones.

Thank you Christina for your heartfelt condolences and sharing your happy memories. I can picture Kelly doing all of those activities based on your vivid descriptions. I was happy to read that he loved the moon as I also have a newfound interest in astronomy. I know he treasured the friendships that he made.
      Sincerely,
      Joanne

It is with great sadness to hear about Kelly. Kelly was a compassionate, intuitive, free spirit. He cared deeply for others. I will never forget when he invited me to spend Christmas with him one year so I didn’t have to spend it alone. Kelly lived fearlessly and took risks and opportunities in life. He wasn’t afraid of being vulnerable. I admired the wonderful qualities he held.
You will be forever missed Kelly.
    I hope you rest well.

I can’t believe Kelly is gone. We met each other at a time in our lives where we were both trying to better ourselves. We spent 2 days together stuck in detox, and then 45 days at Aurora. He was one of my best friends in their since day 1, he is one of the greatest friend/person I’ve ever met. We had many deep conversations and we were very similar people in many ways, we really understood each other. He was going to be a life long friend, he always had a positive attitude, even when he was struggling or in pain. I will miss him deeply. I wish I would have been able to talk to him one last time. I know he will be deeply missed by all of his friends and family. He had such a beautiful soul, his life was cut way too short, what an amazing guy!!

I met Kelly at a time and place where we both battled nearly indistinguishable problems in our lives that we connected instantly. We could talk for long periods about our similar struggles. Not only that, but we had the same sense of humour and outlook on many things. Extremely intellectual, kind and likeable by everyone. I won’t ever forget befriending Kelly Gallacher.
