Jason Passed away peacefully at the age of 23 years, at home in the arms of his family, on Thursday August 6, 2015, after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer.
Throughout his tough journey, Jason showed the true spirit of a fighter! Doing whatever he needed to do to try to conquer this disease that was trying so hard to knock him down! He succeeded at first, after enduring months of chemotherapy, radiation and three major surgeries, he was declared cancer free! This was only to last for eight months! The cancer came back and he once again fought for his life! This time however, the cancer proved to be too much! He was told there was no longer anything more that could be done! It was a hard pill to swallow at first, but Jason, who always lived life to the fullest, decided he would go out doing what he wanted to do, for as long as he could! The generosity of total strangers, came out and helped him cross off many things on his bucket list! One of the things on Jason’s list, was to drive an expensive sports car! When Richie Hughes, owner of Toronto based VIP Exotic Car Rentals, heard about his wish through friends, he arranged for Jason and his brother Jacob, to have a $300,000 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder for the day! “Go have fun!” was all that was required! He also got to be a high rolling black jack player at Casino Niagara, with a VIP table that normally needs $100 a hand. He and his friends got to play for $5.00 a hand. In June, Alex Vincenz of The Jagermeister Company arranged a stretch S.U.V. limo to pick Jason, Jacob and some friends up for a full day of fun at the Venice Beach party in Toronto. Alex was so touched by Jason’s courage and determination. They remained good friends afterward. Just a few weeks ago, Jason got to see the Tim McGraw concert in Toronto. Jason’s family cannot find the words to express the gratitude they have to everyone who helped Jason live out his bucket list the last 3 months of his life! It gives a bit of light on a horrible situation, to know that Jason got to do so many things that made him happy!
At the end, when the cancer became too much, and he knew he was losing the battle, Jason chose to go with dignity in the comfort and surroundings of his home and family.
Jason will be lovingly remembered by his father Tony Gordon and fiancée Donna Hall, her daughter Christine Martin, his mother Lynn Farquhar and her partner Lisa Robitaille, her son Sam Desroches, Jason’s twin brother Jacob and his sister Madison. His grandparents Roy and Barb Farquhar. His uncles and aunts Mark Farquhar, Linda Tabak (Steve) Tom Bennett, Pat Kozak (Zolton) Kathy Byrne (John). Predeceased by his brothers Matthew and Jeremy Gordon, Grandparents Elmer and Madeline Gordon, and Uncle Dennis Bennett. Jason will be remembered by his cousins and the many friends who will never forget his energy, charisma and spark for life. Jason lived more in the 23 years on earth, then many of us could ever live in a lifetime. He will be missed and loved always.
A Celebration of Jason’s life will be held on Thursday August 13, 2015 at Ferndale Banquet Hall, Barrie from 4-8pm.
Jason wished that donations be made in his memory to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, in which they will be directed specifically to “helping with the cost for treatment medication”, payable to Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. http://www.thepmcf.ca 1-866-224-6560 option 1.

I was shocked when I heard of his relapse.. Life can be so difficult at times..His body may have been weak but his spirit was so strong..It was wonderful that he got to enjoy some of his heart desires..by some generous people.. A beautiful expression of human love.. May the memories that you have shared together be a comfort to you..My prayers are with you….Donna H.
