It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Janet Delaire-Dore at her home in Barrie, Ontario on January 30, 2025.
She is survived by her loving husband and best friend, Paul, by her daughter Alison, and by her sons Jordan, and Luke (Kate). She is also survived by her sister Wendy Belbeck-Brownbridge (Bob Thompson) and by her brother Lloyd Bulbeck (Kathy). She will be missed by her beloved grandchildren, Hailie, Travis, Harley, and River, and especially by her affectionate little dog, Maverick.
She is pre-deceased by her brother Wayne Bulbeck, her parents William Bulbeck and Alyn Bulbeck, and by her stepmother, Vera Thompson.
Janet worked at Pace Credit Union in Stroud, and at Zehrs, and Pro Care Pharmacy in Barrie. She loved travelling, especially to warm climates, enjoyed crafts, decorating, and was an amazing cook. She was known for her ready laugh and warm hospitality. Her Sunday suppers for close friends were legendary.
In keeping with Janet’s wishes, a private cremation has taken place. Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.peacefultransition.ca
Janet’s family would like to share this poem:
“You can shed tears because they are gone,
or you can smile because they lived.
You can close your eyes and pray they will come back,
or you can open your eyes and see all that they left for you.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see them,
or you can be full of the love you shared.
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live in yesterday,
or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember only that they are gone,
or you can cherish their memory and let it live on.
You can cry and close your mind and feel empty,
or you can do what they would want –
Smile, open your heart, love… and go on.”

Posted on: Tuesday, February 11, 2025Janet moved to Bass Lake when we were little and we became besties after one day of school. Lots of memories of Nancy Drew books, silver charm bracelets, girl guides camp, fishing, swimming and skating on a frozen Bass Lake. And bad memories of having our ears pierced by my mom and getting Toni perms. Will miss you dear friend and our online chats.

Posted on: Wednesday, February 12, 2025Paul & family – I will always treasure the memorable moments we all shared with Janet.
– she gave me my first mortgage and I wouldn’t have the home and life I have without her unbelievable support (although I often wondered who let her be in charge of giving people like me money! lol)
– the many, many get togethers at the Dore residence that included shooters on the kitchen island, singing Xmas carols on the front porch, sliding down the neighbour’s pool slide, etc
– trimming other people’s plants with scissors
– road trips to Bobcageon, pedicures, and fall fairs
– many Molson dances – especially the ones at the Nottawasaga
The list is truly endless. I will miss her immensely, but every time I think of her I smile. My heart is with all of you.
