I am saddened to hear the passing of a lifelong friend of our family. In fact, Jim was more like Framily. Jim was my Dads best friend for over 60 years. My first memory of Jim I recall is when I was about 4 years old (that was almost 50 years ago) and I was giving my Mom a hard time about going to nursery school. Jim was there at the time and offered to drive me that day in his corvette. Of course I went with Jim to nursery school. Jim was a true gentleman. Jim would often visit with my Dad no matter where we lived. From Toronto to Lindsay to Barrie, Jim was there. Jim even joined the family race team and earned the nickname “White shoes”. Many times Jim arrived in his Corvette. This is probably why this car is a favourite of mine to this day. Jim always had some words of wisdom for me. Thanks for the many memories Jim. You will forever be framily to me. Until we meet again, rest easy.

Played hockey with Jim several times, most notably in the Snoopy Tournament in Santa Rosa in 1999. A wonderful person. Fun to be with him. He will be missed greatly. My sympathies go out to Cherie and the rest of his family.

My most sincere condolences for your loss. May dear Jim rest in eternal peace.

Jim and I met at Amex in 1990 and we worked together for a number of years. We later became friends and he introduced me to Cherie. They were a perfect match and very likable. The three of us enjoyed our outings for lunch or dinner and had lots of laughter.

Jim was such a kind person and a true gentleman. He was liked by everyone and admired for the humble and helpful person he was.

I am very saddened by his loss and will always remember our last lunch before the pandemic.

My thoughts are with the whole family. May God give you strength to cope and continue.

    Sincerely,
    Ramzi Ohan

I was very saddened to hear of Jim’s passing, after all my years of playing hockey I don’t think I ever met a nicer guy then Jim Reeves.
He will be missed by many but his memory will live on forever in the hockey world.

To one of the sweetest people we have ever met, we will certainly miss Jim’s gentle demeaner and his big burley smile. So many great memories with Cherie and Jim over the years that Maria and I will cherish for a lifetime. From the brick Jim tried to put in our fire pit one night to him eating and drinking the things he loved, Jim lived a good life with Cherie by his side. Jim will never be forgotten and we will always be there for you Cherie in the good times and the difficult times.

Dear Jim, I’m still at a loss for words. I still can’t believe you are gone. You fought this harder than anyone thought possible and I would like to think it was all the love you had for us that kept you fighting as hard as you did. To say you will be missed is an understatement! I love you and I miss you tremendously.

My deepest condolences. Jim & I met at AMEX in the early 90’s and we worked together many times over the years. We were part of a long suffering lotto team for over 15 years until he left. No big winning’s for sure. Jim had such dry humour, he was kind and a true gentleman. Cherie while I never met you he spoke of you in the most respectful and loving way to many of our colleagues at Amex. May he Rest In Peace & I hope he finds all the best cars and hockey players in heaven. Melanie

On Monday April 18th, we held a small family gathering to share stories and pictures of Jim.
After we toasted to Jim with martinis and butter tarts, it started to snow. I have heard that snowflakes are kisses from heaven. I would like to imagine that Jim, with a glint in his eye and a smile on his face, was sending his love to all of us.
We miss you, and send all our love back to you.
    Forever in our hearts.

    Cheers….to Jim 🍸
