Born in Winnipeg, MB, to Jack and Barbara Clements, raised in Toronto and Keswick, ON.
Jack lost his sight in a shotgun incident when he was 20 years old. He enrolled at the Ross W. MacDonald School for the Blind in Brantford where he met the love of his life Mary Lou. They married in 1957 and settled in Toronto. Jack soon started working for the CNIB working his way up to District Administrator and spent time in Sudbury, London, and Barrie ON. After retiring from the CNIB the family spent time farming and then moved back to Barrie where Jack worked for Revenue Canada for several years. Never one to let his blindness stop him, Jack was actively involved in Lion's Club and was a Ham Radio operator (VE3 ESD).
Mary Lou sadly passed on February 16, 2025 and, heartbroken, Jack soon followed. Jack is survived by his three children Lauren (Tim Ward), Dan (Jennifer), and Robyn (Rob Duncan); eight grandchildren Morgan, Devon and Tristyn Ward, Kristin and Jakob Clements, and Corbin, Kelsey and Rhys Duncan; seven great grandchildren Kohl, Nyla, Stevie, Jack, Archie, Miles, and Elliot, as well as brother Herbert and sister Eleanor of Toronto.
Inurnment and Celebration of Life to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jack may be made directly with the CNIB.
