Gerlinde Grueters

August 21, 1939 - January 31, 2025

Funeral Details:

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt, Gerlinde Grueters, who peacefully left this world on January 31, 2025. She was 85 years old.

Gerlinde was predeceased by her loving husband, Helmut Grueters, with whom she shared over 50 wonderful years of marriage. He was her world, and now they are joyfully reunited in heaven.

She was a devoted mother to Mark, Richard, and Andrea (Michael), who will forever cherish her love and guidance. She was also a dear aunt to Pia. Gerlinde is survived by her sister, Annie, who resides in Germany.

Affectionately known as "Oma," Gerlinde was the cherished grandmother of Tiffany (Matt), Brandon (Cadence), Caitlyn (Jimmy), Jordan (Neisha), Brooke (Aaron), Brittany (Brandon), Kyle, and Drew. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Cooper, Noah, Maximus, Addisyn, Ashton, Knox, Ziva, Eleanor, and Reiner.

Gerlinde dedicated her life to her family, being a stay-at-home mother, and later working at the Salvation Army. She had a deep passion for cooking and was known for creating meals filled with love. She found immense joy in planting trees and flowers, cultivating beauty wherever she went. A devoted reader, she always had a book in her hands and a story to share.

Above all, Gerlinde was a woman of unwavering love and kindness. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, embracing them with warmth and care. Her gentle spirit and nurturing heart left an indelible mark on everyone she met.

We will miss you dearly. You will live on in our hearts every day. Though we grieve, we take comfort in knowing that you are at peace, reunited with your beloved Helmut, embracing once again with open arms.

God bless you OMA, may you finally be Happy, and at Peace.

    Hi Oma,

It’s your little Chaity. I miss you so much. I know you are with Opa now and that is all you wanted.

I miss you warming our milk for cereal and always having hard boiled eggs with vitamins on the morning. I miss all of us watching Cornation Street on the couch.

I learned so much from you at such a young age and I am beyond thankful.

I am sorry you never got to meet my twins but I am glad we were able to send some letters back and forth with pictures of my family.

I love and miss you and Opa so much. I know you are both watching over us all.

    Love your granddaughter Caitlyn.
