Funeral Details: A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date, please check back for details in the Spring

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Jerry on December 15, 2024 at the age of 67 years. Son of the late Harvey and Mary McCoy (nee King), and of Marjorie (nee Trimble). Beloved husband of June McCoy. Loving father of Melissa McCoy (Bob Burnett), Scott McCoy, and step-father of Angela Canning. Dear grandpa of Ava, Landen, and Desiree, and Jordan. Brother of Sandra Klages, and Dennis Trimble.

Jerry was a man who thrived on staying busy and filling his time with meaningful activities. A dedicated provider, he always ensured the well-being of his family and wife, June. Known for his calm and easygoing nature, Jerry approached life with hard work and a steady hand. He was a warm and loving individual who left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Canada Day celebrations were especially memorable for Jerry, as he enjoyed a good party with loved ones and friends to mark the occasion.

In accordance with Jerry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. His urn will be placed in the family plot in the spring of 2025. A Celebration of Life will also be held in the spring of 2025. Details of the celebration will be available on the Peaceful Transition website once those arrangements have been finalized.

Very sad to hear of Jerry’s passing. As his cousins (children of his auntJoyce Bumstead nee King) , we have fond childhood memories of Jerry from our visits to the farmhouse near Chesley. I remember rafts like Huckleberry Finn’s (Mark Twain) being made to take down the river that flowed beside his childhood home. I am very grateful that Jerry was able to reconnect with us in recent years and that we were able to met June. Our sympathies to her and his children and others who also enjoyed his mischievous smile and good humoured nature.

So very sorry for your loss. Cousin Jerry was a blast when we were younger, many fond memories as I spent a week in the summers on the farm. We often got in trouble but that’s what kids do. Lost touch for several years as I moved out west. Recently met and reminisced at Aunt Evelyn’s and it was great to see him again.
Sadly we never got to see his home and family in Washago.

    Dan & Wendy & family.

We were very sad to hear of Jerry’s passing. As youngsters Jerry and I spent a great deal of time together, playing on various sports teams, camping, and just generally hanging out together. Great memories as kids going to Keady livestock sales with Jerry and his dad Harv and maybe getting an ice cream cone afterwards. Our condolences to June and family. He will be missed.

We were so lucky to have Jerry as part of our family. He always had a smile and laugh that brighten the room. Canada Day celebrations on the front porch were the place to be.
Thank you Jerry for showing my sister years of love and support no matter what laid ahead for both of you. You will be missed.

I worked with Jerry on many flooring projects. He taught me how to use a ride on sander. He was a very patient, humble and hilarious work friend. I will always think of him when doing this job and be thankful I got the chance to Meet such a character. Rest in peace buddy. You were one of the old school!

Steve and I have fond memories of hanging out with Jerry and June, be it one of their annual Canada Day celebrations or having fish n’chips at a favourite spot in Orillia. Jerry was a kind, soft-spoken man, well-versed in his craft and very much my sister’s soul mate. His humble generous spirit and understated vitality will be profoundly missed by all. Rest in peace, Jerry
