Funeral Details:

In honor of one of the greatest men to walk this planet, it is with tremendous sadness to share with you our loss of George Bruce Lusignan who quietly passed on Thursday January 12th, 2017 at Hospice Simcoe located in Barrie, Ontario. George’s life may have unjustly ended as one more victim to cancer however it began on March 5th, 1947 with the love of his Mother Grace Ure and Father George Lusignan Sr.  as George became a brother to sisters Janet, Carol and Lynn.

George married and fathered two children; George Jr. and Bridgit and moved forward in life to become a successful mechanic and continued his work into semi-retirement with Muskoka Auto Parts in Huntsville Ontario.

On june 30th 1989 George married Linda MacLeod and enthusiastically took on his role as a loyal husband and devoted dad to Darlene Corneil (Greg) and Shauna Glasgow (Matt). George also leaves behind six grandchildren that love and miss him dearly; Spencer, Sabrina, Jamie, Greer, Teagon and Everitt.

George’s love of sports helped forge a lasting bond with his son George Jr. who tragically passed on January 16th, 2003, condemning George to grieve quietly for the rest of his life. May they both rest peacefully together once again. Spread your wings and soar and we will look for your spirit in the sky.  Messages of condolence can be left at www.peacefultransition.ca

I am so sorry for your loss. I will always remember George for the kind things he has done for me. Like the time my car wouldn’t start and you ( Linda) sent him to help me. He nagged me for driving in the garage instead of backing in and I told him it was too hard with the portable garage. We pushed it out and he got it started and I never did that again.

Also the time when Dave Wright took a tree down for me and called George to pick up the wood all they did was sit on the logs talking. I saw them and thought oh well just neighbours being neighbours.

I now live in Barrie south end. If you need anything please don’t hesitate to call
