It is with a heavy heart that we announce the sudden passing of Eleanor Francis Whibley.  She was 82 when she passed through the gates of heaven on July 19, 2023, surrounded by her entire family.  Nothing could have been more perfect for our mom.

Eleanor was born to Margaret and Ted Bond in Toronto on September 20, 1940. She leaves behind an incredible legacy because of her many talents, her tenacious, vibrant, quirky and out-going personality that led her into a career in acting late in life, but her hard work and dedication to her family was always her priority.

She will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind especially her husband of 62 years, Douglas Whibley and her four children, daughter Charlene Childs and her husband Gary, son Todd Whibley and his wife Debbie, daughter Shelly Smitten and her husband Rick, and son Jason Whibley and his wife Lisa. Her many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Grandchildren - Laura, Nicole, Jessica, Jeffrey, Terry, Jason, Travis, Dale, Justine, Amanda.  Partners – Neal, Rob, Kyle, Brooke, Kelsie, Antonella, Shawna, Christian, Alex.  Great Grandchildren – Michaela, Liam, Owen, Colin, Luke, Darcy, Charlee, Paisley, Dylan, Grace, Massimo, Andi, Parker.  She was the sister to the late James Bond and the late Karen Hamilton.  Survived by her sister-in-law Carol Bond and brother-in-law Ron Hamilton and extended families.  She will also be missed by her many, many friends that include the Church parishioners of St Paul's and all the people she worked with in the entertainment industry.

Our family truly appreciates everyone who have been by our sides during this incredibly difficult time. Your words of love and support have been so appreciated. It's clear our mom was truly loved by all.

Please join our family for an intimate Church service on Thursday, August 3, 2023 at 1:00 pm at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 227 Church Street, Newmarket, Ontario, L3Y 4C5.

I was shocked to hear of Eleanor’s passing. I hadn’t seen her for a few years, but saw her briefly several months ago. She looked and sounded like her usual bright and outgoing self.
My heartfelt condolences to Doug and the family.

We’ll miss Eleanor’s big smile, her bubbly laughter, and her frank honesty. When people say the cliché “She lit up a room,” Eleanor’s picture should be right beside it. Deepest condolences to the whole family.

It was a pleasure meeting and getting to know Eleanor. Such an awesome woman and I like to refer to her as a real firecracker! Loved to see her on some commercials and a couple of TV shows too! Good for her for realizing a dream! Our condolences to the Wibleys and extended family and friends. She will be greatly missed
