Earle George Splane

Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

Earle Splane, a beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away on July 15, 2023 at the age of 79.

Earle is survived by Beverley, his devoted wife of 50 years.  Together they raised two sons, Ryan (Graciela), and Joe (Cat), who brought immeasurable joy to their lives.  Earle was so proud of his sons, not only for their accomplishments in life and for the fine men that they had become, but also for the way they were raising their own children.  Earle’s grandchildren, Nova (14), Kaya (11), Maya (13), and Julian (8), were the lights of his life and he cherished every special moment that they spent together.

Earle was a caring brother to Leslie Foss (predeceased) (Grant), Cathy Brennan (Jim), Frances McNern (Rob), and a valued brother-in-law to Bob and Anna Bassett, and to Jane Battah.  His niece, Ashley, and nephews Jeffery and Michael held a special place in his heart.

Throughout his impressive 31-year career with Bell Canada, Earle’s sense of adventure took him and his young family to Saudi Arabia for nearly 5 years, where they embraced the challenges of expatriate life and took advantage of the R&R’s to travel the world.  Even after his retirement from Bell in 1997, he embarked on many more adventures, taking on assignments in India, Phoenix, Chicago, and Tampa, experiencing new cultures and making lasting memories.

However, beyond his professional accomplishments and globe-trotting experiences, Earle’s greatest passion in life was golf.  It was on the golf course where he found solace, and joy.  Despite facing many serious health challenges over the years, he never gave up hope of getting back on the greens, as golf remained a symbol of resilience and determination throughout his life.  He looked forward to every game and was grateful for the camaraderie and friendship of his golf buddies at Shanty Bay Golf Course, who made every game fun.

Earle will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, especially his long-time friend and buddy of 35 years, whom he shared a lifetime of great memories with.

Hit ‘em long and hit ‘em straight Earle.  And may you rest in peace, knowing that your memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew you.

Our deepest condolences to Bev and Family.
Earle was a very Special Man who inspired others in so many ways!
Jan & I will always remember Earle from the golf games and the Euchre nights and just watching Earle walking around the block with his walking poles with great determination to get fit and healthy so he could get back on the golf course and show us how it should be done.
He always had a smile on his face and was always very positive – nothing was going to stop him.
Our Daughter Sarah always remembers when she first met Earle and how determined he was after going through his amputation and wished all her patients had the grit and determination to get on with life after so much adversity- a great inspiration!
The community has lost a great friend and a good neighbor.
Rest in peace Earle, you will always be remembered with love❤️

Earle was one of the good guys.
He married a fine woman and together they raised a strong family.
Worked for Earle for 2 years in the Kingdom. It wasn’t easy but Earle always got it done.
Went on a few hair raising motorcycle trips together.
    Loved his sense of humour.
A lot of people are going to miss him.
Catch ya on the other side buddy.
    Jim
