It is with the heaviest of hearts we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother Wayne Jones, on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024 in his 86th year.
Wayne is survived by his sons Dave (Arlene), Gerry (Helen), Chuck (Scarlett), Tom (Debbie), Wayne (Priscilla), Art (Erika), and daughter Crystal (Rob). He will be missed dearly by his 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was dear to his siblings Marvin (the late Shirley), Bev (Doreen), Larry (Anne), and Peggy (the late Garnet), and the late Beryl (Jerry). Wayne will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Wayne spent many years working on the Farm from a young age where he developed his strong work ethic. Always being a smooth talker, he found himself owning a Massey Ferguson Dealership throughout the 70’s and continued working on the Farm. This quickly turned into him owning his own Construction Company for many years. During this time, he had a successful Dredging and Demolition construction where many would remember the numerous local sites he worked on. Wayne loved working on the Farm and his beloved cattle. He continued to talk of them throughout his life. When Wayne was not working on the Farm or in Construction, you could find him on the lake bass fishing, camping with the family or out to a baseball game. All that knew Wayne, knows he was always up for a good party.
In keeping with Wayne’s wishes a private cremation has taken place and his urn will later be placed with his father in the family plot at Lakeview Cemetery in Midland. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion Bayport Branch 545, 369 Armstrong St., Port McNicoll on September 14, 2024 from 2-4 p.m.
If so desired, donations can be made to the Heart and Stoke Foundation or to a charity of your choice. Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.peacefultransition.ca
