It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of David Frank Edminson on February 21, 2024, at the age of 67.
David was a distinguished figure in the diamond industry. He was a fine gentleman whose leadership and expertise left an indelible mark on the world of diamonds.
He embarked on his diamond journey with unwavering dedication and a commitment to excellence.
He emerged as a leader in the industry because of his keen insights, innovative approaches and passion for diamonds.
David was a natural athlete. His unsurpassed ability on the ski hill was noticed by all. You could easily point him out as he was always the fastest and most captivating to watch coming down the hill. David was so proud that his son Dylan inherited the same love of the hill.
David possessed an unmatched sense of humour, genius mind and incredibly generous nature.
This was most valued by his daughter Nina, who relied on him for sage advice about life, love and all that comes in between.
David navigated considerable hardships and adversity with resilience, and his ability to persevere was inspiring.
David is predeceased by his parents, Dennis Edminson and Eulalie Banks, and his sister Jannet Edminson.
David is survived by his former wife, Marina, and their children Dylan and Nina.
He will be greatly missed by his sisters Judy and Karen.
He is remembered by his nieces Alexandra (Eddie), Lisa, Caitlin, his nephew Max (Leah), and was a loving great uncle to Andrea, Aurora and Andreas.
David, a divemaster, found his greatest joy while exploring the uncharted realms of the ocean. If you wish to honour him with a memorial donation, please consider the Divers Alert Network.

Both Maricela and I could not be more sorry to learn of your sudden loss.
David was our good friend during years gone by, and a fun and competitive teammate on the ball diamond back then, too… and not to miss mentioning, a fellow Andrean from SAC, as well.
David was a true “original”…So very sad….We’ll miss him.
Our prayers are with you all….John & Maricela Greenough
