Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

It is with the heaviest of hearts that the family of David Woolley announce his sudden passing on August 3, 2024.

David was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Julie, for 42 years.  He will be deeply missed by his children: Jason (Jennifer), Chris (Charlene), David (Lindsay), Kyle (Hayley), and Jazmyne (Danielle).

He was a proud grandfather to Haeden, Kalem, Jaxton, Jaden, Holden, Hannah, Logan, Sidney, Shanti, Violet, and Zander.  He will be lovingly remembered by his siblings, John (Jennifer) and Linda (Doug), as well as many extended family members and friends.  He is predeceased by his parents, Peter and Peggy.

David began his career in sales as a truck salesman for Western Star in 1985.  He worked hard and played hard, always making the most of like.

He loved boating, traveling, hosting family events, and barbecuing as Chef Dave – he sure loved a good steak.  David enjoyed camping, telling jokes, listening to music (especially country and rock & roll), and dancing.  Known for his handiness, he could MacGyver any project, big or small.  As he often said, “If they don’t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.”  David’s vibrant spirit and infectious humour will be missed by all who knew him.

His legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family and friends will live on in the hearts of those he touched.

In lieu of flowers, donations in David’s memory to The Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.  https://cancer.ca/en

Dave was always full of life and “left it all on the field” when it came to business success and personal happiness. He was more than just a work colleague to those who knew him. He will be missed deeply.

Julie, you and the whole family must be in shock. We just saw you all at Big Pete’s memorial service and David was talking about enjoying slowing down at work and looking forward to getting out on the boat with you for the summer. Our hearts go out to the entire family. Really there are no words.

I first met Dave sometime in the early 2000’s when he sold us the first Western Star truck we had ever bought. He treated us like gold on the first one working through every detail so many hundreds more came after.

Over time he became both a friend and an integral part of the business and never walked away from us even when the news was bad. He eventually garnered the nick name from a few of us of “Super Dave” because he never left you stranded and always came through. Dave loved to have fun too and time spent with him always passed quickly.

My deepest condolences to Dave’s family

    Deeply saddened.
There are so many fond memories of get-togethers travelling and just having an enjoyable time with the Woolleys.
Dave was always fun and very welcoming.
    He will be sorely missed.

My heart goes out to you, Julie, and your family. Dave touched the lives of many. I have fond memories of his dry sense of humor and not so convincing touch guy act. He will be missed.

So sorry for Julie and the whole family.

    I just heard about Dave.

I got to spend a few years at the same marina with them and got to meet some of the family over that time.

The joy in being around Julie and anything involving the family made him so happy, and how unsettled he was when Julie wasn’t there will be something I will always remember about him.

I really feel for Julie and the family at this time,

    Doug

I met Dave through work. We put together several trucks for customers. Dave was always professional and kind and always talked about his family that he dearly loved. My sincere condolences to his loved ones. He was one of the good ones and I am sure he will be sorely missed.

We only met Dave and Julie once at a neighbours party but they definitely left an impression. They were such a fun couple and you could see what a wonderful life they had built together. We were so sad to hear of Dave’s passing. Julie, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you navigate this tragedy. I hope your many memories of your great life together help you through this. xo
