It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Constance (Connie) Curry (née Garrow) on December 3, 2024, at the age of 84, in Newmarket, Ontario. Born on February 18, 1940, in Toronto, Connie was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience, living life with an unwavering spirit that served as an inspiration to all who knew her.
Connie grew up in Toronto, where she graduated from the esteemed Branksome Hall before pursuing her passion for the arts at the Ontario College of Arts. A free-thinker at heart, Connie lived an unconventional life, guided by her own principles and an enduring curiosity about the world. She had a unique perspective on life that allowed her to see beauty in all things, and she shared this gift with those around her.
Above all, Connie’s greatest joy and devotion were to her family. She poured her heart into raising her daughter, Alexis, and was a loving, nurturing presence in the lives of her grandchildren, Sawyer and Ava. She found deep fulfillment in caring for others, and her selflessness and compassion were defining aspects of her character. Connie was the cornerstone of her family, always offering a listening ear, a comforting hug, and a steady hand.
Her strength was evident throughout her life, especially in her courageous battle against cancer, which she fought and overcame not once, but twice. Her resilience in the face of adversity was a testament to her inner strength and determination.
Connie is survived by her beloved daughter, Alexis, her cherished grandchildren, Sawyer and Ava, and her loving brothers, John, Jim, and Charles. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her, and her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Connie’s honour to the Canadian Cancer Society, an organization she supported deeply throughout her life.
Connie's spirit will be missed, but her love and strength will endure forever.
Memories and messages of condolence may be left below.

Posted on: Thursday, December 5, 2024Peter and I are deeply saddened to hear this. Being another Branksome student I knew Connie years before I met and married her Cousin Peter. She was a most remarkable women who lived life to the fullest and mostly for those nearest and dearest to her. Family was always her greatest commitment. She and I worked closely together for several years as volunteers to Headwaters Hospital before she moved from Orangeville to Newmarket. We shared a lot of laughs and great memories abound from that time especially for me. We will miss her unique approach to life and determination even in the path of personal health struggles. May you rest in peace and rise in glory dear Connie.
