Bryan Drope was born in Winnipeg to parents Nell and William on March 23, 1939. He took great pride in his career as a high-pressure pipeline welder and was grateful for his friends, colleagues and those who obliged his fondness for a good-natured debate. Bryan collected stories from his colourful life and shared them generously with the many people he loved.
He passed away peacefully at home on February 17, 2023 with his wife and companion Marilyn (nee Flanagan) by his side. He is survived by his children Kelly, Kent (Heather), Steve (Lina) and Nicole (Stephen); Kendra (Ian) who chose him as her dad; and the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that filled the family homestead with their youthful exuberance and for whom he kept the pool sparkling clean. He will also be missed by his siblings Murray (Pat), Bodhi (Mudito), Maureen and Colleen; his sister-in-law Mary Flanagan; and his many nieces and nephews.
The family thanks Dr. Kiss and all who offered their love and support during Bryan’s recent decline in health. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Operation Smile Canada www.operationsmile.ca in Bryan’s memory.

Posted on: Monday, February 27, 2023So very sorry to hear of the great loss to the Drope family. Marilyn, when I saw you at Dr. Kiss’ office, I had no idea Bryan’s situation was so dire. It was wonderful to see you again, but my heart breaks now for your loss. Fortunately, you have your lovely family to rally around you and for you to support one another. Nicki, to you and your siblings, it is really hard to lose your Dad. He will be missed forever. Take care of one another and know that you have the sympathy and support of so many. To you and Steve: take care of yourselves and take your time recovering from this loss. All the best to the Dropes I know best – Marilyn and Nicki – and to the others whom I have met over the years. Sincerely, Kathy.
