Thorpe, Angela “Jill”

After a short and unexpected illness, it is with deep sadness to announce that Jill Thorpe after 85 wonderful years passed away with her family by her side.  Jill has three children, Derek (Marie) of Victoria BC, Graham (Pauline) of Barrie ON, and Sheryl (Darcey) Coyne of Innisfil ON. Proud Grandmother of Kristy, Katelyn, Matthew, Rachel, and Samantha, as well three great grandchildren, Kallie, Ronny, and Polly.  Jill will be missed deeply by her family, as well her extended Florida friends.  Jill was the kindest person you could ever meet; she kept her humor and strong wit until the very end.  At a later time, a celebration will be held in Barrie and Florida.  Arrangements entrusted to Peaceful Transition and condolences may be forwarded to the family through www.peacefultransition.ca

Your Mom has influenced our lives for over 50 years and will be dearly missed by us both.
So many family events included the Thorpe family.

We have spent the last few days reflecting on the past with laughter and tears.

Her smile, hugs, laughter and ability to put us in our place with the ever loving threat “your Father would/will” is one of countless cherished memories.
Ken and I are so glad that we were able to surprise her with a visit last winter at her Florida home. The look on her face was priceless.

Mrs. T we loved you as our “other” Mom and will keep your memory alive in our hearts.
Fly with the angels, you have more than earned your wings.
With much love until we meet again

Goodbye and God Bless you Mrs. Thorpe. That’s who I knew her as. I first met a Thorpe when Derek strode into our class room, all the way from England. He wore leather shoes, white and red plaid trousers and a long sleeved button down shirt. We became fast friends and then I met the rest of the clan. Mrs Thorpe was not as flashy or loud as Derek. Reserved, kind and intelligent. When she had had enough of our antics she could shut us down with one sentence. She excuded Class and reminded me of my own Mother. Lovely Lady and I am glad to have met Her. Brilliant curly red locks, standing Tall. No wonder she made it into the Golden Girls Club. I am happen to learn she was able to spend time in Florida among friends and away from Ontario’s harsh winters. God Bless you Mrs. Thorpe. Love & respect to those left behind; Derek, Sheryl, Graham and the grand children. She will be missed.
