Funeral Details: A memorial service will be held on February 16, 2024 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at Parkview Community Centre, 189 Blake Street, Barrie, ON.

Ana Cecilia Ortiz Letona de Doucette age 38, passed away peacefully at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre on February 7, 2024, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

Born November 3, 1985 in Guatemala City, Guatemala where she lived until 2011 when she immigrated to Canada. In Canada she resided in Vancouver, BC and Barrie, ON.

Cherished wife of Mark, and loving mother to daughter Amaya. Beloved daughter of Ana Cecilia and Jose Fernando (Sonia). Survived by her siblings Julio Cesar (Katerine Paola), María Fernanda (José), Sonia Amalia and Eliza Gabriela, grandparents Edilberto and Olga Alicia, brother-in-laws Bryan (Shannon) and Jon, and mother-in-law Sandy. Predeceased by her grandmother Amalia Alvarado and father-in-law Richard.

Ana Cecilia’s passing has left a profound hole in all of our hearts. Her beautiful shining light, that has always guided us, will continue to guide us moving forward.

A memorial service will be held on February 16, 2024 from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM at Parkview Community Centre, 189 Blake Street, Barrie, ON.

Our sincere thanks to the caregivers at the Simcoe Muskoka Regional Cancer Centre and to all those who helped support Ana Cecilia in her fight against breast cancer.

    Mark, Amaya and family, very sorry for your loss. When I met Cecilia at the CIBC walk in 2022 with Jocelyn, she was very sweet and a great hugger.

    I had the pleasure to get to know Cecilia through RISE at Georgian College. I knew Cecilia to be kind, patient and very passionate about what we were working on. I cannot imagine the loss to her family and I’m sending my sincere condolences to family and friends.
