Adrian Serge Cordeau

It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved son, father, brother and uncle on July 13, 2023 surrounded by his loved ones. Born on July 28, 1962 in Arichat, Nova Scotia.

Adrian is survived by his parents Roy and Marie Cordeau, son Brandon Cordeau, Sister Giselle Santonato (Mark) Brothers, Roy Cordeau (Carolyn) and Paul Cordeau (Dianne). Niece Cassandra Santonato and Nephews Marcel Santonato, Jack, Christian, Channing and Nicholas Cordeau all of whom Uncle “A” loved dearly. No one could ever take Uncle “A”’s place and it will never be the same.  His legend will always live with us forever  RIP Uncle “A”.

He will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.  He loved to celebrate many occasions by toasting with a cigar and cognac.  He enjoyed wine making for years  and was a 4 time gold award winner.  His favourite drink was Rum and pepsi not “coke” with lots of ice. For everyone that knew Adrian, knew he had a heart of gold. He had different certificates in different fields HVAC, Gas license and Refrigeration. No one could surpass his knowledge. He loved his pets Rusty (deceased) Scooby (deceased) and Rocky.  He enjoyed photography, had an eye for the most beautiful things especially women.  He was adventurous, love to travel, enjoyed racing his Vega, snowmobiling, hunting, fishing, boating and scuba diving.  His favourite food was steak, lobster and skors chocolate.  His most favourite game was a round of golf! Adrian was the life of the party and will be extremely missed. we will always remember his silly moments that made us laugh.

A special thank you to his Mom and Dad that looked after him to his last breathe at home. To the palliative care team at the Stronach Cancer centre in Newmarket.  We would also like to thank Nurse Mahtab from SRT Medstaff and the PSW’s from Spectrum Health Care.

My sincere condolences to each of you. To lose a child is one of life’s hardest things to experience for your parents. To watch and care for your brother as you have Giselle, being a support to your parents, caring for Adrian, and trying to take care of your family for so long is no easy feat. You gave him care, attention, you were his advocate and most of all gave him strength and love through this difficult journey.
May he rest in peace free of suffering.

We are deeply saddened to hear this sad news of Adrian.

”Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.

Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.”

Aunt Marie, Uncle Roy, Brandon, Giselle, Roy, Paul and all of your families……the loss of someone so dear to all of you is immense. The life of the party and the loudest, you always knew where Adrian was, if there was a picture he was the one in the front usually lying right across the screen. And always with a smile on his face…the biggest one there. Taking him to school in kindergarten was my first paying job LOL and I worked hard for the $4.00 a week, he made sure of it because if you knew Adrian he was a little stinker. Adrian…You are loved and you will be missed. You are now sleeping peacefully and out of pain. Rest dear cousin you have earned it. Love You Always….Gail, Dan & family!

Aunt Marie, Uncle Roy and to my cousins and their families. My heart aches for all of you. Words cannot express how deep the grief you feel. I was very happy to spend time with Adrian and all of you, sharing laughs and taking pics and videos of our visits with Adrian. I’m so sad to see him go but know the suffering has ended. He was so loved and cared for. I hope you celebrate today the way Adrian lived his life…smiling, laughing and joking. The life of the party. Wish we were there. Will be there in spirit and heart. Love you all!

I got to spend a bit of time with Adrian while visiting Giselle last year and a little this year.

It felt like no time had passed, even though we hadn’t seen each other in years, like what you feel like when you have a true friend that will always be there no matter what.

Sincerely I say that he resonated great warmth and unconditionally accepted everyone for who they were I think. He was interesting and fun and he will live on in my memory now and in my heart !

We didn’t see each other alot because I live so far from Giselle but it’s never about quantity (that’s important) but about the quality of our visits that will truly be cherished.

My heart goes out to ALL the family, relatives and friends of Adrian Cordeau 💔 May he RIP 🙏
