Gordon Ellis Frew passed away at Roberta Place Long Term Care Home in Barrie, Ontario on Feb 18th, 2025 shy of his 83rd birthday. Gord is lovingly remembered by his wife Sharon Frew (Stevens), his daughters Jennifer (Taher), Melissa (Matt), grandkids Zahra, Zak, Elora, and Ophelia, his sister Margaret Morrison (Frew), brother Dale Frew, his sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s, his nieces and nephews, and friends.
Gord will be remembered for his mischievous sense of humour, his love of boating and cottaging on Georgian Bay and Muskoka, his safety last approach to home renovation projects, enjoying the cocktail hour on the deck, his unique use of the English language, waking up his grandkids with water guns and always asking to watch Home on the Range at the cottage, and his love for family and friends that crossed his path throughout his life.
We find comfort in knowing that Gord's legacy lives on through the memories of those who knew him, we hope you raise a glass when you think of him.
We like to think of him up in Georgian Bay under the stars drinking a Scortch and watching la Luna pass across the sky.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. As an expression of sympathy memorial donations may be made to Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital Foundation or a charity of your choice in his name.
Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family at www.peacefultransition.ca

Posted on: Sunday, February 23, 2025Gordon has been in my life for as long as I can remember. So many of the photos from my youth include him or Sharon or his girls. I will forever remember him as a great friend to my dad and mum and so thankful he was part of my wedding day 20 years ago.
