It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kathleen on Wednesday, December 4th, 2024 in her 78th year surrounded by her son Roderick and daughter in law Melanie.
Kathleen was mother to twin sons Timothy Charlton (predeceased) and Roderick Charlton and was former wife of the late Keith Charlton. She is survived by her son Roderick Charlton. Kathleen was born on January 25th 1946, to Robert (predeceased) and Kathleen (predeceased) Turnbull in Fife, Scotland. She was a dear sister to her brother Brian Turnbull (predeceased).
Kathleen, with her parents and brother immigrated to Canada in 1957. She will be remembered fondly and will be deeply missed by her son Roderick Charlton, his wife Melanie Charlton and her grandsons Ethan Charlton and Lucas Charlton of Horseshoe Valley, ON as well as her granddaughters Taylor and Shannon Charlton of Scarborough ON and her grandsons Robert and Ryan of Scarborough, ON. Kathleen will be sadly missed by her many other relatives, friends, and community members. Kathleen faced many challenges in her life and faced them with unwavering determination and with a friendly and positive outlook and a sense of humour that brought a smile to many. She worked for many years as a nurse caring for others at Huronia District Hospital as well as Stevenson Memorial hospital. In later years, she continued to care for many disadvantaged people through her community volunteer efforts with the Salvation Army and other organizations in the community. She leaves her surviving family with a legacy of fond memories.
Following cremation, Kathleen will be returned to Scotland where her ashes will be scattered upon the homeland that she loved so dearly.
