Pamela Joan Cook

January 8, 1932 - September 22, 2024

Funeral Details: Private Family Arrangements

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Pamela Cook at the age of 92 years on September 22, 2024.

Pam was the loving and caring wife of Howard for over 73 years.  She was predeceased by her daughter, Susan.  Pam is survived by her children Barbara, Paul (Jane) and Carolyn Reid (Dayton). Proud grandmother to Mackenzie (Chelsea), Gabriel and Anna.

Pam will be deeply missed, but fondly remembered for her valued guidance and enthusiasm for life.  She followed the Tibetan Proverb: “The secret to living well and longer is eat half, walk double, laugh triple and love without measure.” Her gentleness and clever sense of humour will be remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Donations to The Salvation Army Toronto Grace Health Centre in honour of Pam would be appreciated by the family.

I will miss her so much, as my neighbour. She brought me, for many many years much joy, as a friend with her uplifting spirit.

Dear Carolyn, Howard, and Cook Family,

Our deepest and sincere condolences for your loss. It was an honour and privilege to be involved in your mother’s care during her time here at Toronto Grace. Pam was someone who touched us deeply and we will remember her forever. Each therapy session she would greet you with a big smile, she never complained, worked extremely hard, and had the most positive attitude throughout her recovery journey in rehab. She remembered everyone’s names, she would always tell the team “be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody” and reminded us that kindness, gentleness, a little fun, and a simple “hello” could go a long way and make someone’s day. We will miss her bright light and smile. We pray and hope she is resting peacefully.

    Sending you love and prayers.

Dear Carolyn, Howard, and Cook Family,

The fifth floor nursing team would like to send our deepest and heartfelt condolences to your family as you are experiencing such a great loss. We are so grateful that we were able to serve and take care of Pamela. She was the life of our unit. Even now we can vividly remember her amazing smile and bright eyes as she would always say “I’m okay.” Pamela was able to connect with staff and other patients and making friends here was no problem for her as her positivity and compassionate personality was so contagious. We are so sorry for your loss, and we all hope and pray that you will be able to have the strength through the grieving process.

    Warmest Regards,

I have fond memories of Auntie Pam- although she wasn’t keen on the “Auntie” as we all got older! I always looked forward to hearing from her at Christmas and getting the family news. Although we were a long distance apart I always felt close and when we visited we picked up from the last time. I am so sorry we didn’t get to see her this year but unfortunately it wasn’t possible. I will be thinking of you (Uncle )Howard, Barbara, Paul,Carolyn and all the family as you process your great loss. Sending lots of love and our sincere condolences from across the pond.
Love Sharon, Christopher and family xxx
