Matt Vurma Jameson

August 11, 1947 - August 27, 2024

Funeral Details:

Matt Vurma Jameson passed away on August 27, 2024 at The Elden Senior Residence in Bradford at the age of 77 from a very aggressive and painful cancer.

He was born in Enkoping, Sweden to Estonian parents.  The family moved to Canada and settled in Hamilton, Ontario.  Matt attended Westdale High School and Wilfrid Laurier University where he majored in Economics.

He held many sales positions, most notably with CGC/USG Canada where he rose to Product Manager.  He made President’s Club on several occasions and enjoyed trips to Vienna, Hawaii and Australia.

He is survived by his loving wife Patti (nee O’Neill), his daughter Amanda and her husband David Kellough, their daughters Lauren and Jackie, Patti’s daughter Carolyn Chowne and grandson Connor Camm of North Vancouver.  He was predeceased by his brother Andres and his sister Tiina.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date in Bradford.  Interment will take place Thanksgiving Weekend at St. John’s Anglican Church, South River (Eagle Lake), Ontario.

The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the wonderful caregivers at The Elden.  They went above and beyond to make Matt as comfortable as possible to the end.

    I am so sorry to hear of Matt’s passing. We have lost touch over the past few years but I do think of you often. Lots of fun times and good memories. My love to you and Amanda as you move forward.

      Hi Cookie. Thanks so much for your note. Matt suffered terribly the last 2 months and it was a bitter sweet relief when he passed. I’m living in a seniors residence in Bradford, which is about 14 minutes from Amanda in Schomberg. It’s been a hard time, but I know you understand what that’s all about. Hope all is well with you. I think of you often as well, and always smile at the fun and nonsense we had.
