Sheila Louise Vines (nee Lynch)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sheila on Monday, July 31, 2023 at the age of 67 after a brief stay at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre.
Born in Alliston, ON, Sheila was welcomed to the world by her parents Terence and Eileen Lynch. Loving sister of John (Joanne), Mary (Diane), Joe (Robin), Gene (Lee), and the late Michael, and David. Sheila will also be missed by her sister-in-law’s Laura, and Lorraine.
Sheila was blessed to spend 23 years of her life with Norris Vines, who was the love of Sheila’s life. If there is a silver lining to her passing, it is that she now is at rest with Norris.
Sheila’s legacy includes two dearly loved children, Natalie Edgar (Lee), grandson Liam MacNeil, Denney Edgar (Diane), and granddaughter Elyse.
There were special people in Sheila’s life who captured her heart, her grandson Liam MacNeil, granddaughter Revee Baanee (Curtis), nephew Seamus Lynch, niece Erin Lynch (Brad), and her best friend Leslie Miller (Murray).
For a number of years, Sheila was a valued member of the Barrie and Community Family Health Team. Always patient, kind and caring, she was a dream to work with. As one of her colleagues stated, “Sheila loved everyone, and everyone loved her.”
Sheila’s easy laugh and generosity of spirit will be greatly missed by her numerous friends and family.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on August 12th, 2023 from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm at the Traditions Banquet Hall (142 John St, Barrie, ON).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of your choice, in memory of Sheila.

Posted on: Tuesday, August 1, 2023My Dearest Sheila: We first met through Natalie’s Gold & Glitter back in 1992 and made some incredible memories and had some amazing laughs way back then! I hold those memories dear to my heart. Fast forward to 9 years ago, and I am blessed enough to start working for the BCFHT and who do I literally bump into?? It was amazing to become reacquainted and I was once again able to appreciate your sense of humour, love for your friends and your work team/family. I’m grateful that that BCFHT brought us into each other’s lives. And I’m happy to have been witness to such an incredible partnership of love and understanding between you and Norris. I know he is holding you so tightly right now. You will be missed my friend. You left us far to early, but we all know that you are with your Norris and that gives us a bit of peace.
When I think of the days of you, me, Cheryl and Nat… one thing that always puts a smile on my face was how no on but us knew what it meant when we referred to each other as the Lucy’s . It’s a cherished memory that I will hold dear. Always.

Posted on: Tuesday, August 1, 2023We were very sorry to hear about Sheila’s passing. A number of things come to mind when remembering her.
Sheila’s smile could light up a room. As the youngest in the family, no doubt that smile got her out of some tricky situations.
Sheila also had a contagious laugh that made you want to be part of the joke or funny story that she was sharing.
One time Norris had a matinee performance in London, ON. I went to meet Sheila and Norris to
spend some time with them.
The afternoon was pure pleasure listening to the beautiful voice of Norris and then spending time over dinner catching up on the latest events in our lives.
That afternoon will always be a happy memory for me.
May Sheila rest in peace. May the wonderful memories of her be a comfort to her family.

Posted on: Friday, August 4, 2023When I first met Sheila and Norris, my impression was of two people who seemed to enjoy each other’s company much that they had to remind themselves that the rest of us were there! Theirs was a true love story.
We will always remember Sheila, and miss her, but can find comfort in knowing that she is now where she wants to be

Posted on: Sunday, August 6, 2023To my Lynch cousins: The news of Sheila’s death came as a shock. I knew her only as a child but from the memories I’ve read, she still had her big smile as an adult.
Tho’ I can’t be there, please know that each of you are in my heart and on my mind as you grieve Sheila’s passing.

Posted on: Monday, August 7, 2023I am Sheila’s cousin on the Lynch side of her family, and I last talked to her three months ago in Hamilton, at the wake for my sister’s husband (Anne and Ern). Over the years, I always talked with her at Lynch family weddings and funerals, and I met Norris a few years ago (along with my wife Maureen and children Christiane and Michaela), and I am glad that they were so happy together for so long. Also, for many years, I had lengthy annual Christmas phone calls with Sheila’s mother, Eileen, and she kept me up to date on major events in Sheila’s life. In reading the other condolences, I can, as someone who knew her when we were both children in Alliston, say that I too always thought of her as a very kind person. My condolences to her brothers and sisters and other relatives, and to her friends.

One thing that really resonated with me was the way she spoke about her husband. She spoke of him with such love and devotion.
My condolences to her family. So very sad.

Though I only knew you through work for a few years, I saw you every day and I really apricated the chats that we had with each other. You were the first person I met when I came to work at the FHT and I am glad I got that time with you. Rest in Peace and my thoughts are with your family and friends.

Posted on: Wednesday, August 9, 2023I just don’t know what to say. Sheila and Norris were great friends to everyone, I met Norris many years ago doing sound for him. Right beside him was the love of his life – Sheila. They were always so happy together. We loved the visits at our shop, Sam was called the brains by Norris. Sam did all of Norris’s audio mixing. Sheila and I were supposed to meet for lunch a few times, but my schedule got in our way. I am so sorry that I missed seeing Sheila more since Norris passed. Her heart was broken when Norris left this world. Now they are together again and they left so many broken hearts behind.
