Germaine Angelina Paquette Flinn

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Germaine Flinn on Saturday, June 24th, 2023 at the age of 33 in Haliburton, Ontario.  A loving mother, partner, beloved daughter, sister, and loyal friend.  Germaine will be remembered for putting others first and going out of her way to help a friend or loved one.  She embraced life and all its challenges to the fullest and her zest for living was infectious.  She made friends easily and left a lasting impression wherever she went.  Her laugh and smile lit up a room and made everyone feel special.  Germaine was never shy about stating her opinion and was known to stand her ground on issues that were important to her.  Sometimes stubborn, sometimes demanding, but always someone you could rely on to stand up for you.  Her daughter Oakley will do well to follow in the path her mother was forging through life with her openness to new challenges, hard work, and the understanding that doing a job meant doing it well.

Germaine will be lovingly remembered by her fiancé Mitchell Reeves, daughter Oakley, parents Stephen and Angela (nee Paquette) Flinn, brother Nicholas (Suzanne), aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and innumerous friends.  Cherished granddaughter of Elieen (nee Johnson) Paquette, and Sheila (nee Ferguson) Flinn.  Predeceased by her brother Serge Flinn, and grandfathers Gaston Paquette and Keith Flinn.

Losing Germaine has left a hole in the lives of those that loved her, but we will fill that void with the memories of her, keeping the time we had with her close to our hearts.  Oakley will grow up knowing how special her mother was and just how precious she was to her.  Though we will not say goodbye, for now we say, “Good night, dear heart.  Good night, good night.”

In keeping with Germaine’s wishes there will be no visitation prior to cremation.  Services will be held at St. John Vianney Parish, 13 Baldwin Lane, Barrie on Tuesday July 11 at 11:30 a.m.  Private gathering to follow.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to a charity of your choice.
