It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James “Wilkie” Wilkinson from Toronto, ON, at the age of 83, on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Woods Park LTC, Barrie, ON. He leaves behind his loving wife Carol, with whom he was married 63 years, and 3 children; James (Suzanne), Janine (Dom), and Greg (Sarah). Lovingly remembered by grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by extended family and friends.
Wilkie grew up in the Queen and Broadview area of Toronto. He maintained his Toronto roots throughout his life including long held cherished friendships made there. He loved to entertain his family and friends and was known for his quick wit and sense of humour. He had many fond memories of time spent at his family cottage on Whitestone Lake where he enjoyed fishing and boating. Wilkie also enjoyed travelling with his wife to numerous countries. He worked for GO Transit for many years. Following his retirement, he was a volunteer driver for Simcoe County Children’s Aid Society where he earned the nickname 911 Jim.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Patricia Kemp Community Centre, 7894 Dufferin Street, Concord, ON. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Kids Help Phone or Red Cross.

Posted on: Wednesday, November 23, 2022Carol, Jim, Janine & Greg, we were saddened to hear of the passing of Jamesie. He will be missed and you all are in our thoughts at this difficult time.
We remember at our wedding he asking why he didn’t have a boutonnière for his lapel, so he got a stick of celery and put it in his lapel and walked around like that. Everyone had a laugh, typical Jamesie!
