Christine Burlton Genis

Born in England to Arthur and Florence Munns, Christine immigrated to Canada where she spent the greater part of her life until passing peacefully in her sleep at her home in Bradford Ontario in her 84th year.  Christine is survived by her husband William (Bill) Burlton who loved and cared for her until her final day, may our thoughts of gratitude and compassion be with him as he navigates through this time of grief.

Christine was a parent to Tina (Yanni), Rhonda, Andy (Sandy), Philip (Nadine), and was predeceased by her son Kevin (Teresia).  She played the role of a loving grandmother to Shane (Jacquelyn), Nicole (Rob), and Thea (Luke) as well as a great-grandmother to Declan and Nash.

The family will be celebrating her life and sharing memories at a private gathering.  Their condolences are extended to all who knew her and share in this loss.

As Christine was a devout animal lover and advocate for their well-being, we would ask that if you have a desire to donate to a charity in her memory, please consider one that benefits animals.  Christine’s passion for animals continues to be expressed through a generous donation she has left to the Marmot Recovery Foundation in Nanaimo BC, and the World Wildlife Foundation.
