Passed away peacefully, in his sleep, in his 75th year, following a 5 year journey with dementia.
Henry will be deeply missed by Sharon (nee: Gilbert), his devoted wife of 51 years. He was always loved, and often outwitted by his children, Aaron (Anna) Wozniak, Trevor (Erika) Wozniak, and Amie (Nick) Lemieux. As a Papa he has left many stories for his grandchildren to tell. He was kept on his toes by all of them, including Emma, Josiah, Nathaniel, Abbie, Arianna, Lillie, Brooklyn, and Everly. Henry will also be missed by his brother, Stefan (Sheila) Wozniak, and sister Christine (Sean) Flannigan.
Henry was born on March 12, 1948 in Germany. He immigrated to Canada with his parents when he was 6 years old. Being brilliant at math, he followed a 35 year career in teaching, spending most of his time with the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic School Board, during which he also served as a Vice Principal. He spent his time in retirement traveling the world with Sharon, camping, razzing the grandkids, and checking to see if any fish were in the mood to be caught.
Our family would love to thank the incredible staff at Roberta Place for the way they cared for Henry, who they affectionately called their "Gentle Giant".
Donations can be sent to The Alzheimer Society of Simcoe County. https://alzheimer.ca/en

I have very fond memories of Henry chaperoning a Bruce trail trip when Aaron and I were at St Joe’s, his many visits to BCHC, the holiday gatherings and my engagement party at your home. He truly was a gentle giant.

Posted on: Saturday, August 27, 2022I’m so sorry to hear about Henry’s passing. The only person I knew who took a whole loaf of bread to university every day for his lunch and ate half of it on the way there in the morning. He was definitely a character.
My very sincere condolences.
