David James Tilley

March 20, 1967 - March 22, 2022

Funeral Details: Private family arrangements

It is with deep sadness that the family of David James Tilley announce his passing on March 22, 2022 at his home in Brechin, Ontario after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 55 years.  Born on March 20th, 1967, in Etobicoke, Ontario, he was the first born of 5 children to Hannah Finlay (nee Murphy).

Leaving to mourn, his loving wife, Kim Tilley (nee Jarvis), their three wonderful children, Angela, Andrew, and Alyssa, and his dogs, Shylo and Ebony.  David will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his siblings Joe Tilley (Diane), Corena Rowsell (Mike), Jamie Tilley (Heather), Donna Tilley (Don), his mother-in-law Sandra Jarvis, sister-in-law Sally Beauclaire (Ivan), brother-in-law Brett Jarvis, and a large circle of extended family and friends.

David was a hard working, straight shooting, genuine, and honest kind of man, who would always tell you like it was.  He cared deeply for his family and friends, and would take the time needed to share his knowledge with others, be it teaching how to install a plumbing pipe, build a house, or repair a car.  He was quick to step up and help whenever he was needed.  David had a passion for music, and loved playing guitar, a skill that he instilled in his children.  He loved to draw, paint, sketch, and do woodworking, he was a true Jack of all trades.

Many thanks to Dr. Russell, Dr. Kulkarni, all the staff at RVH Cancer Care Program and the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital for their kindness, professional care, and compassion throughout David's battle.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Peaceful Transitions.  In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held.  As an expression of sympathy, donations in David's memory can be made to Royal Victoria Regional Health Care, Cancer Centre in Barrie, Ontario or to the Canadian Cancer Society.   Online memories and condolences may be made at www.peacefultransition.ca

I worked with Dave for many years, and always enjoyed it. When he walked in the room he would light it up with that smile. He is one of the hardest working people I’ve known. I will truly miss him
