It is with great sadness that the family of Frances Barbara (Sinclair) Turnbull announces her passing on March 10th at the Barrieview Retirement Home in Barrie, Ontario. Beloved mother of John (Lynn), Sue, Mona (Dave Franklin), Debbie Haggerty (Tom) and Andrew (Noreen). Fran was predeceased by her loving husband John (Jack) Howard Turnbull. Born in Calgary, she met Jack while traveling with her mother to BC and subsequently raised their family on a farm north of King City, Ontario. Fran was a nurse for over 30 years, then retired to a cottage on Acton Island in Muskoka and wintered in Florida. She volunteered for Hospice of Palm Beach County for 27 years. She will be greatly missed by her 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, who loved swimming, fishing and playing cards with her.
Fran was a kind and caring person who had a zest for life and was willing to try anything. She often won against her children when playing Scrabble, Cribbage and Quiddler. Her sense of humour remained with her until she passed away at 97.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to either Cystic Fibrosis Canada or Diabetes Canada in her honour.

Posted on: Tuesday, March 22, 2022Feeling for you very much at this difficult time, Mona. I admired your mother very much and the relationship the two of you had. You have been a very caring daughter. I am sure that was a reflection of the kind of mother Frances was. Condolences to the whole family.

Posted on: Wednesday, March 23, 2022I will miss Aunt Frances. She visited my dad in Kelowna a few times. She loved it there. And she really enjoyed spending time with my father and making sure he was eating well. He looked forward to her visits. They got along so well together. I really liked the time I got to spend with Aunt Frances. She was so easy going and laughed easily. Her eyes always seemed to have a twinkle. Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your mom, John, Sue, Mona, Debbie and Andrew. She will be missed.
