First and foremost my deepest most heart felt condolences to aunt Doreen, Sandra, Gord, Karl jr. and Elynn. How you do sum up the life of such an incredible man who touch so many? I will cherish all of the memories at the cottage cooking meals for Uncle Karl, Uncle Don, and my Gdandpa Jim forever. The three musketeers and their afternoon lakeside beers. They are all peacefully together now. Sending so much love to all of you during this immensely difficult time. Rest In Peace to one of my dearest and most favourite humans. I love you uncle Karl, thank you for all the fun and laughs.

Doreen, Gord (Cathy), Sandra, Karl (Max), we were so sad to hear of Karl’s passing. Remember meeting when we used to visit in Newmarket. He was always so kind and such a gentleman. It’s very hard to lose the patriarch of a family, we somehow expect our husband, father, grandfather to always be there. He will live on forever in your hearts and memories.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Uncle Karl was not my only uncle but he was the only uncle that I spent a lot of time with when I was younger. There were so many family gatherings, BBQs and parties. Uncle Karl never failed to entertain. He is the only uncle I had who cared about me as his nephew. He was a comfort to me when my Dad was diagnosed with cancer. That hand on the shoulder and comforting words will never be forgotten. My Dad really looked up to Uncle Karl and admired him. When those two got together at gatherings they always put on a great comedy show. I know that everyone who ever met him liked or loved him. You couldn’t help it !! I so enjoy following the Mercer family online through their photos and stories. I will miss my Uncle right along with you all. I look forward to seeing him again one day where I am sure he is laughing and being the life of the party along with those who have gone on before him. I know that he would not have us mourn his passing but rather rejoice in his memory and continue to share our memories of times spent with him. He would want us to love each other more, forgive each other more and enjoy life to the fullest just he did. Let’s do our best not to disappoint him !!
