Lawrence (Larry) Donald Thompson, aged 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep at Victoria Village Manor in Barrie, on Friday December 17, 2021.
Larry is already sadly missed by his loving wife of almost 53 years, Mary Wyn, and by his son, Peter (Nathalie), and his daughters, Heather (Ken), and Tammy (John).
Larry is predeceased by his parents, Doris and Sim Thompson, his daughter, Cherylyn (Randy), and his grandson, Jackson.
Larry will be dearly remembered by his 7 grandchildren: Craig (Laura), Janelle, Danielle (Mark), Michelle (Marco), Spencer, Riley, and Sebastien, as well as 4 great-grandchildren: Saphira, Autumn, Leland, and Olivia.
Born on May 4, 1938 in Newmarket ON, Larry lived and worked in Barrie for most of his life, settling here with Mary Wyn in 1973 to raise their family. He worked hard as a real estate agent, broker and CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) until his retirement from Taurus Real Estate Ltd.
In keeping with Larry’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be planned in the spring or summer, when his family and friends are able to gather together to celebrate Larry’s life.
