It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our father and say goodbye for the last time to, James Christopher Smith at the Royal Victoria Hospital on January 22nd, 2019. James bravely fought a long and hard battle against several illnesses over the past 6 years along with the difficult challenge of facing the passing of his wife, Lesley whom he has now joined, along with his grandson Marcus (LeBlanc) in heaven. What he lived for and wanted most was for his legacy to live on and to see his children and grandchildren prosper and to be taken care of and loved just like he did for his family, wife and children through-out his years of being.
James was born in Toronto on July 23rd, 1968, the Son of Reginald James Smith and Sharon Smith. He was married on September 4th, 1987 to the love of his life Lesley Alice Smith, who predeceased him on September 14th, 2013. James is dearly loved and missed by his daughter and best friend Susan Smith, his daughter Nicole Smith and his distant son Josh, his grandchild and deepest joy Scarlett (LeBlanc) and his grandchild on the way, his many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, siblings and his many dear friends.
Friends and family will gather to celebrate our loving fathers’ life on February 2nd, 2019 at 1:30pm at the Innisfil Community Church, 1571 Innisfil Beach Road, Innisfil Ontario, L9S 4B3.
We ask that if you are able, to bring a small donation of food or clothing to the church for providing us with the celebration of life/memorial service for James.

Posted on: Wednesday, January 30, 2019Dear dad,
You were and will remain one of the most important and cherished people in my life. You gave me a wonderful life, and gave me the ability to see all of the wonderful things I had to look forward to in life. You were so proud to show off all of your accomplishements, and the family you brought to be. Although you are no longer present with us, I know you are happy, pain free and with your wife and grandson.
Even when you were faced with challenges you thought were impossible, you over came them and you stayed so optimistic.
You are loved and cherished by those who knew you and were lucky enough to be touched by your presence. I will be here to defend and honour your legacy. I am proud to call you my father, and I am proud to have you as my children’s papa.
Love always and forever, your oldest daughter and best friend,
Susan xoxo
