UNDERWOOD, Glen Dennis
July 25, 1943 ~ February 22, 2017
Dennis Underwood passed away in his 74th year at Waypoint Horizon Centre for Geriatrics in Penetanguishene. Words cannot express our appreciation for the care and compassion that brought Dennis through his last days with dignity. Your staff has over the years became an extended family, Thanks.
Mourning his loss is his wife Lynn and her children; Tyler (Amanda) Pitcher, Lindsey Pitcher. Dennis’ children; Glen Underwood, Monica Gale and Sarah Underwood (Stan Wood). Blessed with grandchildren; Audrey Pitcher, Austin, Nathan and Riley Cook, Jordan and Meghan Underwood, Amanda, Alexandria and Cassandra Gale, Chelsea Flynn, Divya Nayyar and Rhys Wood. Mourning his loss are his brothers Greg and Ryan Underwood, his sister Sherran Carr and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Dennis served the community for many years at Barrie Barbeque Services. A member of the Legion, Greater Barrie Builder’s Association and many business groups over the years. He loved gardening, birds and fishing. Enjoyed dancing, music and large gatherings with family and friends. He played bagpipes for the Black Watch Band in the Military.
The celebration of Dennis’s life will be held at St. James United Church, 2230 Victoria Street West, Stroud, Ontario. Visitation at 10 a.m. March 18th with service to follow at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations to either the Alzheimer’s Society www.alzheimer.ca or the Veterans Memory Project www.thememoryproject.com would be greatly appreciated.
